Remarks with Republicans

At a recent Hancock County Republican event, I had the opportunity to sit down with Congresswoman Mary Miller for an interview as part of my series, Remarks with Republicans.

Congresswoman Miller represents Illinois’ 15th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. During our conversation, we discussed her role in Congress, priorities for her district, and the legislative issues she is currently focused on.

She spoke about serving rural communities across central and southern Illinois, emphasizing agriculture, economic development, and federal policy decisions that impact small towns like those in Hancock County. As a member of Congress, her work includes voting on federal legislation, participating in committee discussions, and representing constituents at the national level.

We also discussed the importance of civic engagement and informed voting. One of the goals of Remarks with Republicans is to encourage listeners to learn directly from candidates and elected officials about their positions and priorities.

In addition to policy topics, we talked briefly about what motivates her to serve in public office and what she believes are the most pressing issues facing Illinois residents today.

As always, this interview is intended to give viewers the opportunity to hear directly from the individual being interviewed. Whether you agree or disagree with a particular perspective, understanding how elected officials approach policy and decision-making is an important part of civic participation.

Thank you to Congresswoman Miller for taking the time to participate in this interview.
